6.1 Blog Stakeholder Summary

Taking the role of a business manager I need to build a stakeholder summary report, I’ve found a similar report that can help me identify key concepts to build a successful report. Looking at Estee Lauder’s highlights for the year of 2019. The first visual shows annual net sales growth between approximately years 2008-2019 for three companies, Estee Lauder is clearly shown to have the most growth amongst the three companies at 8%. The next visual shows a line graph to demonstrate change over time for the share holders, which seems to be going up, better than down. The next two visuals are horizontal bar graphs that show net sales by category and net sales by region. The net sales by region bar graph shows growth between 2009 to 2019. The last visual is a line graph again showing change over time, and again showing growth and success for the company and their shareholders.

This report uses quantitative data comparing net sales, sales by region, stockholder return, and diluted net earnings per common share. The context is to show growth and success within the company to allow investors and shareholders to make an easy decision to continue to invest and buy shares for the company. The visuals show growth in all areas. Net sales beat out the competition by 3%, and shares went from $1.20 per share to $5.20 per a share in just about 10 years. To add more context to the visuals they also included a specific net sales by product in the millions!

This report I think meets it’s objective because it visually impacts even just a simple minded person like myself. I can tell that there is growth and success in the company by how in each visual the bars and lines are consistently going up. Not down. Now I’m sure they may have purposely left out 2020 because I’m positive the sales would have went down due to COVID-19, which is a smart move.
